METRO PEDIATRICS BEAVERTON CLINIC

The Metro Pediatrics: Beaverton clinic is now the largest independent pediatrics clinic in Oregon, serving communities on the west side of the Portland metro region. With a growing patient base and new ways of delivering care, the clinic needed to expand on a tight schedule while staying fully operational throughout construction.

Our focus was to deliver an improved working environment for the clinic’s staff. To achieve this, the design-build team met with staff in every part of the clinic throughout the entire process, including doctors, nurses, and reception staff.

Together, we took any opportunity we had to improve the way the clinic works. We added a redesigned break room and a new “Doc Pod,” an open office area for doctors with a big window letting in natural light. Other improvements came down to fine details, like drawers sized specifically to the supplies used in the clinic, as well as varying desk heights to accommodate everyone’s preferred working style.

To keep the clinic operational throughout construction, we integrated the design and build teams early on. We divided the clinic into separate phase zones, keeping some open while others were closed for renovations.

Construction was completed in phases, keeping parts of the clinic open while others were closed for renovation.
